Award winning Ghanaian blogger, Ameyaw Debrah has described the youth as the most blessed generation by far.

On his accord, the youth by virtue of the proliferation of technology have all they need to grow and improve themselves. “I think our generation has been given the most voice and exposure in terms of technology being regularly available to everybody.”

He noted that the youth is however not maximizing technology to improve themselves and whatever they are interested in. “Especially when it comes to social media, you’ll realize that a majority of the youth are carried away by the fun things, the trolling and all things and not really exploring avenues to use these tools to improve themselves, that is to grow their business.”

Although the youth do not utilize technology a lot more to their benefit, Ameyaw Debrah admitted, “So far, there have been amazing examples of people doing amazing things. Using social media lots of businesses have been set up. Through social media services have been rendered so I think we are looking for more but it is not a terrible space.”

Interacting with Y107.9FM’s Brown Berry on the Ryse N Shyne show to mark International Youth Day, the blogger advising the youth said, “Believe in your dreams, work at it and if things are not working try a plan b and surround yourself with people who will support you.”

To him, International Youth Day is a day to celebrate young energy and the positivity they bring and believes the highest class of the world’s population will be given a purpose of direction and contribute to the world’s future.

International Youth Day is celebrated annually on 12 August to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrate the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.

The Day gives an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal and equitable engagement.

The theme of International Youth Day 2021 is, “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, with the aim of highlighting that the success of such a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.
