Ghana’s number one urban radio station, YFM and the American Embassy in Ghana have held talks to explore opportunities for partnership between both entities.
The meeting which was held at the premises of Global Media Alliance (GMA) in Dzorwulu was attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GMA, Ernest Boateng, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the GMA Group, Edwin Amankwah, Head of the YFM Triangle Osei Kuffour, Programmes Manager of YFM Accra Eddy Blay. Representing the US Embassy in the meeting were Laneice Brooker, Cultural Attaché (Manages Fulbright and a host of exchanges), Kevin Brosnahan, Information Attaché, Joyce Asiedu, Information Specialist and Rukmini Essel, Emerging Voices Coordinator.
The two entities, have in the past collaborated to work on several projects.
CEO of GMA Group, Ernest Boateng speaking on the meeting said: “With YFM being the leading urban radio station in the country, it is obvious that ears and may I add eyes, are on us and we always seek to improve what we do both on air and with other activities. This exploratory meeting with the American Embassy will enable us to see where the opportunities for collaboration are, in order to achieve our respective goals”
Ernest Boateng also expressed his excitement with the opportunities the partnership brings to the two organisations.
“We are excited about the opportunities discussed and we are looking forward to working on various projects with the American Embassy”.
