Managing Director of Diamond Capital Investments (DCI) Microfinance, Selasie Woanyah, has disclosed what his career ambitions were before he miraculously found him in the finance sector.
Growing up, Selasie shared he was quite unsure of his career path because he didn’t know what to do unlike his friends who had it all planned. .
Talking to Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series he said, “With regards to what I wanted to do with my life in future, I’d be lying if I said that I actually knew what I wanted to do. Many of us at the time when asked we’ll say, I want to be a doctor, I want to be a pilot but I don’t think we really knew what we were saying we were all just saying it”.
He revealed that, unlike others who had plans on what they wanted to do and were working towards it, he had none.
“I didn’t have a grand scheme of what I wanted to see. I just knew that I wanted to be successful in life and I wanted to make a difference for myself, my family and for my people” he said.
He furthered that, he didn’t want to conform to the norm of all the struggles in life, “I just knew I wanted to make a difference for myself, my family and those around me”.
Mr. Woanyah mentioned that he never had any role models to look up to because, “I don’t think at the time we had the opportunity to have too many role models beyond our family settings, so I wouldn’t say I had any”.
He emphasized that, although seeing some people was an inspiration for them, he just wanted to be successful in life and make a difference.
