Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South, Fifi Fiavi Franklin Kwetey, has disclosed how it was never a part of his plans to become a Member of Parliament(MP).
Speaking to Rev. Erskine on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard Series, he said, “I actually didn’t have an ambition to be an MP. Infact, it has never been a personal interest and I never saw myself being an MP at any point in time.”
He stated that in 2004, when Haruna Iddrisu MP for Tamale South was going to run for MP, he actually told him to run as well “but I he clearly told him he wasn’t interested.
Looking at how active I was also in politics at the time, if I wanted to run for it I could have and I was sure to win,” he emphasized.
According to him, a number of situations he was not expecting led him to become an MP, and although it was not an easy journey he made it through.
“Because of what I did at setting the review straight, I went through hell in the vetting. I went through 4 hours of grueling vetting and it was like what you call a battle in every step of the way,” he explained.
He furthered that although not perfect, he is very thorough in the things he does. So, the most anyone can say about him is he getting some things in error but not pure deliberate deception.
“I believe that people should not deliberately go into deception. I believe that in life what you sow you reap. So, if you go deliberately lying and deceiving others you’re going to have consequences,” he emphasized.
