Nigerian sensation, songwriter and singer, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David professionally known as Spyro admits to making some gaffes that had a heavy tow on his progress in the industry.
He termed his experience in the music industry as a fun one and made it known to listeners that there were good times and times when things were not so rosy.
“It’s been crazy, it’s been a while in the industry. Professionally, I would say I’ve been in the industry since 2018. It’s been fun, it’s been amazing, I’ve had down times and good times,” he stated.
Spyro mentioned that his mistake with his delay in releasing another song made his career trail go cold after his first hit song “Funke” featuring Davido and Mayorkun.
“I took some steps I shouldn’t have taken that brought things down for me because Funke was papping then and I made a mistake with my next single, I think I took too much time to release but the industry demands you release back to back,” he shared.
“I’m trying to tell people when they have money they should invest. Because the yes-men are going to be there when you’re doing well but when it seems things are going down, no one is going to be there for you.”
The young Nigerian entrepreneur in an interview on Y107.9FM’s “Ryse n Shyne” with Brown Berry revealed that “Billing” feat. Davido, his first single for 2022 is an example of his journey in the music industry.
The Nigerian singer noted that he learnt his lesson and has released records back to back ever since.
