Author and Digital content creator, Beatrice Shine Ayroe has disclosed the inspiration behind her book ‘Revealed;Storm is over.’
According to the General Manager of Ayroe series, the book chronicles her abusive childhood, marriage, running down with her divorce and the dynamics of her current single life.
The author recalls the challenges she had to face with defilement , marriage abuse, divorce all through to grief which spiked the motivation to put her struggles into writing.
” I left home at age 19 because i was pregnant with my first child. I suffered constant abuses from my child’s father and lost my brother and mother the same year I got divorced so those were what inspired me” she said.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Reverend Erskine on the Y98.5FM’s Yleaderboard series, she used the opportunity to encourage persons suffering any form of domestic violence and abuse to step forward and voice out their ordeal to redeem themselves without fear.
“A lot of abuse cases are shoved under the carpet because the victims never report them, so the book is for readers to be on the watch for signs of marital abuse and report lit immediately. They might be saving someone’s life by doing so” she added.
She urged the government to set up services not only in the urban areas but also in abuse prone areas equipped with Psychologists and clinical services in the country to support and protect victims of domestic violence and abuse who report such offences in order not to be victimized again adding that, “Pastors should stop shielding abusers by preventing divorce”.
