CEO of Bu Vision Entertainment, Abou “Bu” Thiam has indicated that the Ghanaian sensation OliveTheBoy’s unique sound sets him apart from the chunk of talents in the country.

OliveTheBoy recently signed to Sony Music Columbia through Bu Vision Ent. after his trailblazing single, “Goodsin” from his depute EP, “Avana.”

In a recent exclusive interview on Y 107.9 FM’s “ShoutsOnY” with Naa Dzama, Bu recounted OliveTheBoy’s monumental signing with Sony Music Columbia, a deal that took about a month to finalize.

He expressed his conviction in the decision, emphasizing the unique qualities that set OliveTheBoy apart. Bu said, “I’ve been in the business for a while, and my attention was drawn to OliveTheBoy’s music, especially Goodsin, after Qing Madi did a cover of the song. I was amazed because, for me, it was about the kind of tone that he has, his sound, and the way he writes his songs.”

Bu Thiam sees OliveTheBoy as a trailblazer from Ghana who has the opportunity to become a global star, and he couldn’t be more excited about the partnership.

He commented on OliveTheBoy’s stage presence, noting that the calm persona seen offstage transforms into a “whole different person on stage performing.” This dynamic quality promises an electrifying and unforgettable live experience for fans worldwide.

Bu Thiam who also doubles as the Executive Vice President of Columbia Records has an illustrious career, having worked with global industry giants like Jay-Z, Kanye West, T-Pain, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga. As the brother of music luminary Akon, Bu’s insights into the industry are invaluable.
