Ghanaian renowned sportsman and former Blackstar captain, Asamoah Gyan has unveiled his mission to alter the perception affiliated to the football career as a last resort career.
The legendary athlete in an interview on today’s segment of the YLeaderboardSeries spoke on the inspiration behind his youth oriented sports initiative, All Regional Games, on Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show with host Rev Erskine.
The former striker who has invested his knowledge and skills into football business, noted that footballers are capable of doing so many other things other than playing football. “I am still here because I want to change the perception people have about football players; people tend to believe that football is the only thing that we are good at; we also exist in the corporate world.”
Asamoah Gyan announced his retirement from active football in 2023 and transferred the impact of his profile into unearthing and training young talents as the next generation of Ghana’s sportsmen. He makes this possible through the launch of the All Regional Games initiative which is set to take place in November.
