YFM, Ghana’s number one urban, youth and music radio station, is proud to announce the launch of #YPOWERICONS2025, a special campaign celebrating 30 outstanding Ghanaian youth who are excelling across diverse industries. As part of Youth Month and an extension of International Youth Day (12th August), which carried the UN theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”, this initiative highlights young people’s unique role in translating global ambitions into community-driven realities. This year’s edition recognises individuals aged between 15 to 35 years in accordance with the African Union (AU) and National Youth Authority (NYA) of Ghana’s definition of youth.
Starting today, 25th August 2025, YFM will be unveiling 6 icons daily until Friday across all platforms. Each day will showcase these remarkable young people who are influencers, thought leaders, medical practitioners, musicians, and professionals across various sectors, all making significant impact in their respective fields whilst inspiring their peers and communities.

The daily unveilings will happen across YFM’s Triangle — Y107.9FM Accra, Y102.5FM Kumasi, and Y97.9FM Takoradi — through digital platforms with full profiles and stories, radio shows with daily mentions and celebrations, and social media with interactive content and behind-the-scenes access. YFM presenters across the Triangle will be directing listeners to digital platforms throughout the week for complete profiles and inspiring stories of these young icons.
The campaign encourages Ghanaians to follow the hashtag #YPOWERICONS2025 and be part of celebrating these exceptional young people who are changing narratives and shaping the future. YFM will honour these 30 remarkable young people who truly represent the power and diversity of Ghana’s youth across all platforms throughout the week.
