The Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA), Ghana’s most prestigious platform dedicated to celebrating excellence in the beverage industry, marked a major milestone with the launch of its 10th anniversary celebration in Accra.
The event, held on Wednesday, 26th November 2025 at the premises of Global Media Alliance, brought together industry leaders, regulators, partners, and stakeholders to commemorate a decade of honoring innovation, quality, and leadership in Ghana’s dynamic beverage ecosystem.
Over the past ten years, the Ghana Beverage Awards has established itself as a transformative platform, spotlighting the best of Ghana’s alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage brands, and recognizing businesses and individuals whose work continues to contribute to industry growth. This anniversary theme, “A Toast to Ten”, reflects not only the longevity of the initiative but also its evolution, impact, and renewed vision for the future.

In a keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng highlighted the remarkable progress the beverage industry has made and the role Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA) has played in shaping it. He recounted the origins of GBA, stating that the initiative was founded with a simple mission to recognize quality, uplift Ghanaian brands, and promote internationally competitive standards. “Over the past decade, this mission has taken root, contributing to the growth of Ghanaian beverage brands that now sit proudly on shelves across continents” he shared.
Looking to the future, Mr. Boateng noted that the next decade of growth must be anchored on sustainability and ESG-aligned practices. He praised Ghanaian beverage companies already leading the way in eco-friendly packaging, water stewardship, responsible sourcing, women-led innovation, and community investments. “Sustainability is no longer an option, it is now a business imperative,” he added.
In a brief address, Ms. Emma Wenani, the Chief Director of Global Media Alliance, organizers of the awards, described the journey of GBA as one marked by excellence, innovation and creativity “Tonight marks a special milestone, a full decade celebrating excellence, creativity and innovation in Ghana’s beverage industry”, she said.
She highlighted the significance of the anniversary, noting that GBA has grown from a simple industry recognition platform into a national celebration of beverage manufacturing excellence, sustainable practices, market expansion and industry development.
As part of the launch, organizers officially announced the opening of nominations of the 10th Ghana Beverage Awards which will be crowned next year in 2026. The nominations process was clearly outlined to ensure a seamless process by both brands and individuals who want to ensure their favourite beverage receives recognition in the industry.
Professor Charles Tortoe, Chairman of the GBA Technical Committee, noted that the Awards were established to identify, celebrate, and elevate industry players and over the years, the vision has not only been achieved but greatly surpassed.
Drawing from his experience on the judging board and in industry research, he highlighted how startups have evolved into major brands, indigenous formulations have been modernized for global competitiveness, and factories have transitioned to more advanced, sustainable processing technologies. He reassured stakeholders that the judging process remains rigorous and credible, positioning the 10th anniversary edition as a legacy year with the highest standards in the scheme’s history.

One of the highlights of the evening was the unveiling of the official Anniversary logo symbolizing celebration and forward movement. Attendees were treated to an immersive showcase featuring visuals from previous editions of the awards, demonstrating how far the scheme has come.
The launch saw representatives from the regulatory bodies and also the beverage industries attending to support the legacy of excellence anchored by the Ghana Beverage awards.
