Malaïka releases "27- The Experience (Live in Accra)"

Following a series of performances across multiple cities and countries, Ghanaian-German-Cameroonian singer Malaïka finally presents “27 – The Experience (Live in Accra)”, a live project recorded during her 27 Experience show at Alliance Française, Accra.

The project captures Malaïka’s music as it has evolved on stage, featuring live arrangements of previously released songs alongside renditions of unreleased material. For many listeners, this will be the first time experiencing some of these songs, as they are introduced in their live form ahead of any potential studio releases. The project also includes standout moments from the live show, including her cover of Black Sherif’s Victory Song and Homeless Song, woven into a medley with her song No Come To Suffer, now a crowd favourite.

The Accra performance serves as a culmination of Malaïka’s journey with the 27 project, which has been performed across different stages including a showcase in Nairobi, a multi-city tour in Germany, and appearances in London, including South by Southwest (SXSW) and a standalone headline show.

A singer and creative artist based in Accra, malaïka creates music that is soft, honest and free, drawing from neo-soul, jazz and R&B while reflecting her roots in highlife, afrobeat and makossa. With a signature velvety tone and a gift for simple, heartfelt lyricism, her work is shaped by a desire to create music that feels like a “warm hug,” offering listeners both intimacy and depth.

27: The Experience (Live in Accra) offers audiences an opportunity to experience her music in its most immediate and dynamic form, reflecting its growth and the connection built with audiences across different spaces. The project was executive produced and creative-directed by Evans Kafui Offori of the frayedjacket creative agency, whose portfolio includes projects such as Becoming Adomaa by Adomaa, as well as For My Brothers and KANI: A Bantama Story by Ko-Jo Cue.
