The hearse carrying the remains of the late Apostle Prof. Emeritus Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka remains under police custody at Transitions Funeral Home following a court injunction that has stalled its release.
Although a casket believed to contain the late inventor’s body was spotted earlier at Gomoa Mpota for the final funeral rites, the hearse itself continues to be held as legal proceedings surrounding the matter remain unresolved. The development has drawn significant public attention as mourners await further direction from the court regarding the ongoing dispute.
An Accra High Court issued a 10-day interim injunction against former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, pausing the funeral and burial arrangements of her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, due to a legal dispute led by the Kristo Asafo Mission. While police secured the hearse at Transitions Funeral Home to enforce the order, segments of the ceremony have continued at Gomoa Mpota, risking contempt of court proceedings.
