Ghanaian musician Fameye has revealed that two distinct sides of his personality, “Peter” and “Fameye”, have played different but equally important roles in shaping his music, personality and career.
Speaking on Y107.9FM’s ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ with Rev Erskine, Fameye revealed that his latest hit single, “GEN Z,” was inspired by his interactions with members of Generation Z. He said he connects with the generation because of their outspoken nature, confidence and skills, qualities he believes have also influenced his music and personality.
According to Fameye, Peter represents his personal and spiritual side, while Fameye embodies the public figure and artiste known for creating music and entertaining audiences.
He explained that at the beginning of his career, much of what audiences saw was Fameye, describing himself as a calm and down-to-earth person both on and off camera.
Reflecting on the journey of the two sides of his personality, Fameye was asked what Peter would say to Fameye in appreciation of everything they had experienced together.
His response was simple: “I had fun.”
Fameye also explained how Peter and Fameye contribute differently to his music, using “GEN Z” as an example. He said the opening part of the song reflects Fameye, representing the talent and artistry that drive his music.
However, he explained that when he switches from his usual flow to Pidgin English, Peter takes over.
According to Fameye, Peter represents his spiritual and personal side, while Fameye is responsible for paving the way and creating the hits that have defined his career, including his popular song “Nothing I Get.”
The musician said he therefore cannot determine which of the two personalities contributes more to his success, as both Peter and Fameye play important roles in his career.
He stressed that neither side takes precedence over the other. Instead, Peter and Fameye work together, with each playing a distinct role in shaping his music, personality and journey in the entertainment industry.
