Host of YFM’s Ryse N Shyne has reviewed Sister Derby and Medikal’s Sampanana video directed by Wanlov.
The video featuring the celeb couple was premiered on March 31 and has gathered thousands of views.
Below is the review!
“Last week we talked about her brother’s video, ‘My T.O.T.O.’ This video is nothing like that. They put in work for this video. It’s one long shot and they thought of every lyric. She says “Give me pickaxe but I no go dig am” and they show a guy with a pickaxe.” She says I no be Kubolor” and they show Kubolor’s feet.
“Every little line they could use to have a moment in the video, they used it and I appreciate that because I’m sure they had to do several takes to get this right and that deserves an applause. That commitment to get this video right is evident.
“I really like the chemistry between Sister Derby and Medikal, its much better than what he did in the “Give Me Vibe” video. It was shot in an uncompleted building, and so you see that raw, cement blocks all over the place but this pops of color through out the video is such a treat.
“But I must add that I like the video way more than the song. The song doesn’t do it for me but the video does pull me in and I can watch that more than once. Hopefully it will grow on me! Wanlov directed the video Sampanana.”
Ryse N Shyne is between 6-9AM week days on Y 107.9 FM with Ms Naa and Vision DJ!
