The 36th Edition of “Fete de la Musique” (World Music Day) will be celebrated in Ghana at Alliance Francaise Accra, on Wednesday, 21st June 2017 from 12pm to 10pm.
World Music Day is a connected set of free public events which takes place each year on the 21st of June. Alliance Francaise Accra wishes to invite you to be part of this year’s edition. As hosts of variety of concerts and promoters of cultural activities, we have put together an amazing programme as we do every year for all and sundry to join us appreciate the music industry.
This all-day event will be divided into two parts where various artists will perform different genres of music such as Afrobeat, Hip Life, Highlife, Raggae , Dancehall , Afro soul among others . Performers expected for the day include: Wakili, Lamisi, Topboi, Stevielash, Bol3ro, Divinity, Nketia, Kwasi Klutse, Denkills , Obouka for the first part from 12pm to 6pm.
The music performances are structured according to genres and times of the day it fits which means patrons are going to have a fun filled day as they stop by to enjoy amazing talents and thrilling performances.
The second part of the celebration will begin at 6:30pm with a concert by popular Guinean RnB artiste; SOUL BANG’S. Haven won the 2016 Radio France Internationale Award and several awards in his home country; he will be in Accra Ghana to perform with RnB music group from Guinea and Jimmy Beckley, a seasoned Saxophonist who has contributed much to Jazz music in Ghana for this year’s World Music Day Celebration.
This will definitely be an unforgettable day as we get to enjoy different genre of music, in one day, on one platform and one great moment!
This event originated in France in 1982, and since then has been celebrated yearly throughout the world. All concerts and events are free, accessible to the public and open to all musicians, whether amateur or professional. The musicians are invited to perform for free and all events are free to the public.
