General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito has been held up by AK 47 wielding men near Suhum.
Recounting his ordeal on Happy FM‘s current affairs show Epa Hoa Daben, General Mosquito said the men wore masks and were heading towards Accra.
“I was coming from my village and before we got to Suhum, There was this Tundra that sped close to our car and nearly crashed into it. Then some people started hitting the car violently. When the driver rolled down, I realized they were wearing masks and brandishing AK 47 riffles. After a little confrontation. they left our car and went to attack the car in front of mine which was also a Tundra. I couldn’t fathom what was going on. They started exchanging words loudly with those in the other Tundra so I stepped out of my car and asked what the problem was. Then a friend I was walking with started taking pictures of the men and their car so when they saw that, they fled towards Accra. I have called the police to track them down. The car they were traveling in was GT 666- 12.” Asiedu Nketia said.
