Sarkcess Music CEO, Sarkodie has explained that his tweet about the need to meet the President of Ghana wasn’t necessarily a demand but “a conversation” starter.
On December 19, 2018, the ‘Advice’ rapper tweeted about having a chat with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and people in power about the hardship in the country.
On December 19,2018, Sarkodie tweeted;
“I need one on one with the president and people in power to have a conversation on the economy if there’s a long term plan that’s causing the hardship now or things are hard for no reason… else inflation x Masses Part 2“
He added that would release ‘inflation’ and ‘Masses’ part 2 – referring to songs he put out earlier calling out the then John Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for the difficult times in the country.
“Obviously people know that if I really wanted to meet the president, I’m not going to put it out on Twitter,” retorted the rapper in an interview on GhOneTV.
“To spark a conversation. If I wanted to meet the president, there is a way. There is a protocol that you need to go through. That doesn’t mean I was joking. I just put out that tweet because of the current condition of the economy here in Ghana.”
