As time inches closer for the members of the Musicians Union of Ghana to elect new executives, the CEO of Lynxx Entertainment Richie Mensah, who is vying for the First vice Presidency of the Union has echoed the fact that he is a “good candidate” for the position.
Interacting with Chelsy Sey on #RyseNShyne on YFM Takoradi, Richie indicated that though his works speak volumes he would not say he is the “Perfect Candidate”.
“I think I’m a good candidate for it, let me not be over confident to say I am the perfect candidate. I don’t believe in perfection, I rather believe the perfection is in the imperfection.”
He explained his reason for contesting is to bridge the gap between MUSIGA and the music industry. According to him one of the major challenges MUSIGA has faced over the years is the inability to involve and educate industry players and stakeholders on its modus operandi and the benefit of being a member.
“I realized that we don’t have most of the current musicians joining MUSIGA, they simply shy away so I intend bringing them on board and also its high time MUSIGA goes digital to ensure members monetize their works through the various digital platforms available both locally and internationally”
Aside signing talents such as MzVee, Kidi, Kwami Eugene and recently Dope Nation to his record label, Richie has also established a Performing and Arts School “Lynxx School of Arts aimed at training talented people looking to enter the entertainment business.
MUSIGA goes to the polls on June 26, 2019.
