Twitter Brings Conversation Threads To iOS

Twitter is rolling out new conversation threads feature on iOS helping users distinguish Tweets from replies, making it easier to join conversations.
As part of Twitter’s bid to make its platform more “conversational,” it has been testing threaded replies on its twttr beta app for the last six months or so. Now, the feature is rolling out on the Twitter app on iOS, making it easier for users to “see who’s replying to who” and thus make it a lot easier for them to join in on conversations.

The feature was first tested in 2018, as part of Twitter‘s bid to increase engagement on Tweets, but it was eventually rolled out to beta testers last year. In the most recent version of the feature now on iOS devices, replies are threaded below Tweets. However, there is none of the color-coding that was apparent in previous versions.

We’ve given conversations a makeover on iOS. When people you follow are in a conversation, you’ll see their replies in a new way in your Home timeline.

In any case, threaded conversations will allow users to be able to identify replies from people they know much more easily, and possibly take part in the conversations that are taking place.
