One of Pop Central’s Top 10 most played girl groups of 2020, Mamamoo, is set to take centre stage this Sunday in the third installment of Pop Central’s Takeover Series; set for 21st February 2021, Mamamoo will be the first girl group and first non-SM Entertainment act to feature in the series following episodes with Shinee and SuperM.
In collaboration with fan base account MoomoosCoord, this takeover will be a double dose of exhilaration for Moomoos (fans of Mamamoo) as the 21st also marks the 30th birthday of eldest member and leader Solar. MoomoosCoord is a fanbase account ran alongside other Mamamoo fanbases for Youtube streaming, projects and events among others.
Winston Micheals, host of Pop Central will be joined by administrators of MoomoosCoord, AJ and Nicole as co-hosts for the day. This will also be the first time a takeover will have more than one guest host.
The highlights of the upcoming Mamamoo Takeover include:
- A Mamamoo playlist curated by MoomoosCoord featuring songs such as Aya and Dingga, the quartet’s latest releases as well as Egotistic and Hip, arguably the most played Mamamoo songs on YFM.
- Interactions with Moomoos from various parts of the world as well as messages from Ghanaian Moomoos.
Pop Central, the Home of Korean Pop in Ghana, will air its Top 12 playlist curated by the team in addition to the special Mamamoo segments. Mostly made up of classic Bedroom Korean Pop songs themed ‘In My Feels’, the playlist will feature groups such as AOA, Miss A, Sistar and soloists such as Gain and Jay Park.
The episode will air live simultaneously on Soundcloud ‘PopCentralOnYFM’ and YFM’s website, YFMGhana.com on Sunday from 4PM to 6PM GMT.
