Nigerian Singer and Songwriter, Adedamola Adefolahan best known as Fireboy DML has shared that the COVID-19 pandemic did little to halt the promotion of his sophomore album dubbed ‘Apollo’.
Explaining why this is so, he told YFM Kumasi’s Naa Dzama on the Myd Morning Radio Show: “COVID-19 definitely ruined some stuff but when it comes to music it is something that everyone really loves to listen to and everyone can relate to regardless of what is going on. Everyone was at home relaxing and listening to music.
COVID-19 didn’t stop people from listening to music. It didn’t really hold anything back apart from physical promotion and having to travel. I don’t think anything was defective because everyone was at home. It kind of really helped in its own way”.
Fireboy DML’s Apollo album is a 17-track album which includes songs such as “ELI,” “Tattoo,” and “New York City Girl,” as well as appearances from D Smoke, Wande Coal, and Olamide.
After his breakthrough in 2018 when he appeared on the YBNL Mafia Family compilation album, the YBNL signee has moved on to achieve greater heights in the music industry. He has recently been nominated in the best male category of the MTV Africa Music Awards 2021. Fireboy is known for his songs such as ‘Jealous’, ‘Baby’, and ‘Vibration’, among others.
