Ghana U20 and Benab FC striker Sumaila Abanga has signed a season-long loan deal with Spanish Second Division B side Club Deportivo Badajoz, S.A.D.
Abanga who arrived in the Spanish town of Extremadura a few days ago was a striking target of top Ghanaian and European clubs after an impressive contribution to Ghana Under 20 and Ghana Division Two side Benab FC.
The teen prodigy’s opportunity is one of the bright spots of the Alhaji Beana owned Benab FC after he entrusted the leadership of the club into the hands of Sterling Sports Africa’s Sakibu Nuhu in September 2020.
Speaking at the signing of the partnership deal with Benab FC in 2020, CEO of Sterling Sports Africa management, Nuhu Sakibu assured that the primary objective of the deal was to stabilize Benab FC as a club at the division before anything else followed.
“We are a small club and will like to remain so. The primary objective is to develop players for the international market, whiles helping them to build their careers,” he added.
President and bankroller of Benab FC Alhaji Beana affirmed his hopes on Sterling Sports Management to transform the club and make it a force to be reckoned with.
