The Dryve (#TheDryve) is a 4 hours stretch radio program with a variation of music-driven segments as well news updates. It is tailor-made to be enjoyed by young adults especially music lovers.

Kojo Manuel is a Ghanaian radio presenter, Event Host, and MC. He is the host of YFM’s drive time show, The DrYve of your Lyfe and the resident MC for Carbon Night Club. He was previously the host of Party Pressure on Saturday Nights.

Manny Yo as he is also called was recently crowned as the Best MC at the Ghana DJ Awards 2019. He also won the award for the Best Youth MC & Media Personality at the FAME Awards 2018. He was nominated twice for Best Club MC Award at the Ghana DJ Awards 2017 & 2018 and also the Jack Daniels Nightlife Awards 2018.

Kojo Manuel previously worked with Echo House as a Digital Marketer and started as an MC for his university hall, Jean Nelson Aka Hall in the University Ghana in 2014. As an MC, he has hosted several events such as the AFRIMA Music Village Concert, Ghana Meets Naija, Boiler Room Accra and Afrochella.



Michael Owusu Smith is known in Showbiz as Dj Mic Smith is the C.E.O of Shutdown Empire; a club, event, radio and artist DJ.

He is a regular DJ at Twist Night Club, plays on YFM’s drive time Show “The Dryve”. He is also the official tour DJ of Ghanaian rapper Medikal.

Known as Africa’s Shutdown King, DJ Mic Smith has played shows in over 40 African countries including the South West Four Festival and The Ministry of Sound 2018.

He is the first Ghanaian DJ to organize a DJ Concert and symposium in Ghana; the Shutdown Concert in 2017 and the DJ workshop and symposium in 2018.

He is an award-winning DJ who can boast of several awards including Red Bull DJ Champion, 4syte TV DJ of the year, Ghana DJ Awards event and club DJ of the year and 3Music DJ of the year among others.

Dj Mic Smith is also known for dropping hit songs such as Blessings featuring Mr. Eazi and Yenkor featuring Kwesi Arthur, the biggest Christmas banger “Jama” featuring Patoranking and Lil Shaker and “Juju”.

He is also the host of the Shutdown Mix Show available on SoundCloud and iTunes.



Ella Okunmwendia is a radio and television content producer, a journalist, and a sports presenter and is fluent in English and French with basic proficiency in Korean and Spanish.

She has worked with Agency Ephat Media as a producer on Time With Celebrity and Prime Morning, as well as 12.28 Inc Productions as the assistant producer of the “Love Is” show.

Ella began her career in radio at the age of 17, in her first year at the University of Ghana. She was recruited as a newscaster for Radio Univers’ French Show “Rendez-Vous Avec La France” after she impressed the producer of the show with her reading. She later became the producer and host of the show.

She officially joined Radio Univers in May 2015 and was assigned to the Sports Desk, a field she had limited knowledge. After months of training, Ella became the first female Assistant Sports Editor at Radio Univers and boasts of being the first sports journalist in Ghana to report on Bobsled and Skeleton and also the first lady to announce at a Taekwondo event in Ghana; the Ghana Open Taekwondo Championship.

After 2 years with Radio Univers, she joined Ghana’s Number one Urban Station as a Sports presenter before producing the MydMorning Radio Show with Trigmatic and Dj Ganj after 2 months, a position she held for 2 years.

In March 2018, Ella began producing The Dryve with Joel Orleans and DJ Mic Smith. Following her passion for Korean Culture, Ella introduced Pop Central, a 2-hour radio show which features Korean Pop music, the first of its kind in Ghana.

As a journalist, Ella has collaborated with several international media houses, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel, and French TV station TV5Monde.

Currently, she works with Akosua Hanson and DJ Kess on the Y Lounge, Kojo Manuel, and DJ Mic Smith on The DrYve, and Winston Micheals on Pop Central, all on Y107.9FM.
