Gleaming Ghana Division One campaigners Phar Rangers Football Club have presented GHc 2,000 cash to Kumasi Asante Kotoko following the team’s gory accident on Wednesday night at Nkawkaw.
The Porcupine Warriors were returniing from their Ghana Premier League match day 22 clash against Inter Allies where they lost 1-0 and while returning to their base, Kumasi, the team’s bus rammed into a stationary KIA truck.
Presenting the cash amount to Kotoko through the Greater Accra supporters chief Nana Kwame Danquah, President of Phar Rangers Football Club, Nana Yaw Amponsah commiserated with the record Ghana League champions and expressed how distraught he has been since hearing the news.
“When I first heard the news, I only prayed it should be a prank. I was really devastated on seeing some of the images of the scores of injured officials and players of the club. The death of Thomas Kofi Asare is even more heart wrenching. As a club, our thoughts and prayers are with Asante Kotoko in these very difficult moments. This is our widow’s mite to the club and it’s our prayer that there will be no more casually and we wish all the injured persons a speedy recovery.” Nana Yaw Amponsah said in a tearful mood.
Nana Kwame on his part expressed the club’s profound appreciation of the gesture from the high-flying Division One side Phar Rangers Football Club.
