Liverpool have been linked with a move for former player Suso, but AC Milan have made it clear that they won’t sell even for mega-money.
Suso, now 24, has been touted as a potential option, with Tuttosport, via Liverpool Echo, saying Liverpool are among the clubs showing interest in the Spaniard and they have made an approach regarding bringing him back to Anfield.
Having signed to the academy as a youngster, he progressed through to the first-team but only made 21 appearances before leaving for Milan for just £1 million, six months before his contract was due to expire.
He’s blossomed in Italy and has arguably been the Rossoneri’s best player this season, scoring seven goals and contributing further with nine assists in all competitions.
The San Siro club value him very highly – so much so, that they won’t entertain any offers for him.
They put a statement stressing Suso will not be sold.
“Milan were very clear with Suso in the summer: We’re not selling you even for €80 million (£71 million),” the post on the club’s official website read.
“That was how the outstanding Spaniard was convinced in September to sign a new contract in what was a very important operation for Milan.
“All the Rossoneri players mentioned today and these days as potential transfer targets are absolutely part of the project, from [Lucas] Biglia to [Nikola] Kalinic and [Manuel] Locatelli.
“It is so, compact and confirmed, that Milan resumes today to train for the upcoming races against Cagliari, Lazio and Lazio in the Italian Cup.”
