The Managing Director of EDC Investments LTD, Paul Kofi Mante says some religious persons, especially the young have become lazy by hiding behind religion.
According to him, some religious folk have developed the mantra and thinking, “your future does not depend on your grades”. He indicated that he nearly fell for that mantra until he accidentally found himself at the ‘Winning Ways Conference’ in 2000.
He indicated that the late Miles Munroe gave a good message which changed his outlook on life. “I got the cassette after the event and listened to the audio repeatedly and could recite it”.
The EDC MD made this known in an interview with Rev Erskine on YFM’s Myd Morning Radio show.
“When I went to University, one of the big downsides for me was church. I had some people and church leaders who had no balance in their lives. They were always saying your future does not depend on your grades. I had made some B’s and I didn’t mind that but that was placing a limit on my life”.
The Investment Banker indicated that after the conference he took a queue from Ephesians 3:20 and applied that religiously to his life and that changed his thinking. “I learnt from the conference that I can pray for and imagine things to happen and after I bettered my grades during that semester”.
Paul who has carried this principle into his adult life revealed that when studying for his second degree, he told his wife he was going to graduate as the overall best student. “I was working full time and had a young family to take care of but in 2 years, I wrote 18 papers and had all A’s”.
He advised young Christians to push themselves to the limit and apply themselves to excellence as it is always achievable.
