TJDJ of Y97.9FM Takoradi was given the awards for Outstanding Hypeman Performance and Best Hypeman at YFM’s just ended second edition of the Y Clash of the DJs which came off at the Accra Mall food court.
As the official hypeman for YFM Takoradi’s Hot Squad, TJDJ battled against YFM Accra and YFM Kumasi’s hypemen, Kojo Manuel and AJ Mensah, and made sure to mount the stage with all the energy he could accumulate. That certainly was not in vain as he gave the most outstanding performance and emerged Best Hypeman of the night.
The judges, DJ Andy, DJ Blow and Reggie Rockstone applauded him for his super energetic performance. DJ Andy, announcing his win, said, “The winner of the Most Outstanding Hypeman of the Night and the judges’ hypeman of the night also goes out to my man, TJDJ”.
“You’re the man. Congratulations to you on this award. Now since you’ve won a cash prize, I know you have a lot of money so forget about the free waakye when you come to my office for the after party”, Reggie Rockstone joked.
Chief Director of Global Media Alliance, Emma Wenani, said, “The energy that TJDJ climbed this stage with is like nothing I have seen before. He cheered on his team in the best way possible and I believe, just as our judges and voters do, that he deserves these awards. Congratulations, TJDJ. You proved that the best comes from the West indeed”.
TJDJ went home with a cash price of GHC1500 among other prizes from EBG Credit and the organizers of the event, YFM.
The judges for the event were Reggie Rockson, DJ Blow and Andy Krim. Foster Romanus host of e.TV Ghana’s LNCS was the MC for the night.
The event was sponsored by Storm Energy Drink, Airport View Hotel, Accra Mall, Cheezy Pizza, Dear Dough, Whoopro, PMI Print House, Perception Management International and Global Media Alliance.
