Afropop artiste, producer and songwriter, Camidoh, has prompted upcoming artistes to keep in mind the fact that they do not need people all dressed up in a suit and tie to make up their music team.
In a phone interview with NYDJ of Y102.5FM Kumasi on the morning show Ryse n Shyne, he noted that it would be a lie if any artiste says that they were on their own and did not have anyone to support them while they were coming up because everyone definitely had a few friends or family cheering them on.
According to him, these people make up an artiste’s team and it does not have to be external people in suits. This came up when he was talking about how his song ‘For my lover’ came about and how his team supported him by investing in the project.
According to him, the song became a hit because a lot of passion and investment went into it. “It’s not about me sitting at home with the team and saying that this is what the market is going to want and so let’s give it to them.
It was basically what I felt that I wanted to record. I felt this is what my spirit wants to speak out or bring out so I made that and then the team also supported it with a lot of investment, then it got to the right ear and I think that is what sparked the fire”, he said.
Camidoh is known in the music industry for his first song ‘For my lover’ featuring Darko Vibes which became a hit song not long after its release, as well as ‘Maria’, ‘Yawa’, among others.
