Ghanaian Singer and Songwriter, Raphael Kofi Attachie, known in the music circles as Camidoh says he is expecting to win the ‘EP of the Year’ award at the upcoming 3Music Awards event.
The musician was nominated in three categories namely the Breakthrough Act of the Year, EP of the Year and Best Male Vocal Performance. However, the ‘Maria’ hitmaker is particular about the EP of the Year.
In an interview with Y102.5FM’S NYDJ on the ‘Ryse N Shyne’ show he disclosed: “My boss was telling me that I really deserved the EP of the Year not because we had the best songs on it but because we did the most on the EP. We had a lot of media engagement; we had a lot of shows with regards to say weddings. The beginning of this year we put out the list of shows that we did and I saw that we have done a lot of groundwork with the EP and this EP announced my presence in Ghana. So, we feel we deserved the EP of the year”.
He, however, noted that the decision lies on the voters and as such he and his team will respect the decision of the voters.
“At the end it depends on the people and what they feel and how they voted so I am patiently waiting for the big night to see what comes out of it. At the end of it all, I am still grateful to Ghanaians and the rest of the world for the support’, he added.
In the middle of last year, Camidoh premiered his debut 6-track EP, a solo project he titled “Contingency Plan (CP) the EP”.
The organizers of the annual 3Music Awards in Ghana on Friday unveiled the nominees for this year’s edition, which takes place on 27 March.
The awards platform which will feature its fourth edition this year recognizes and celebrates outstanding musical achievements in Ghana and across Africa.
