The Y Army team of Ghana’s number one radio station, Y97.9FM is set to donate some essential items to Kith Mental Home in Takoradi.
The team led by their Patron Nana Quasi-Wusu and Y Army General Emmanuel Kwame Dogbey will on Saturday, 27th March, 2021, present items such as toiletries, food items, among other essentials to the rehabilitation centre.
This will be the first of the project by Y Army Takoradi which will be embarked on every year.
This maiden edition of the act of generosity has become particularly necessary after the Centre lost its founder, Madam Abiba Fuseini, approximately two weeks ago.
The team lead, Nana Quasi-Wusu speaking on this happening narrated: “Three weeks ago, on 6th March, we visited the rehabilitation centre to enquire of what they will need. They made it known that they will need some food and toiletries. At the time we went there, the founder of the place was not around. She was sick. A week after, on 11th of March we were informed that she is no more. That is the ordeal they’ve been through.
And interestingly one of the gentlemen there that the founder has been able to take care of to recover is now standing in for her”.
Programmes Manager of Y97.9FM, Agyekum Gyimah, on his part commended the team for this initiative when he stated: “We are proud of the Y Army Takoradi team for taking up this initiative. We hope that this action on their part will continue to impact the lives of others in our community”.
Y Army Takoradi will on Saturday, meet at the Takoradi Mall at 10:00am prompt to commence this initiative with persons interested in joining this project and donating to the centre.
All COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
