The oldest and tastiest biscuit brand on the Ghanaian market, Piccadilly as part of its sixty-five (65) years anniversary has unveiled one of the most sought-after brand ambassadors in the country.
The brand which has from time immemorial validated Christmas in Ghana, as part of efforts to solidify its brand on the local market, has unveiled Mikki Osei Berko as its brand ambassador.
Managing Director of the brand, Roy Sommers sharing insights into the selection of Mikki as its brand ambassador noted that to achieve the very best as a brand, “We have to put in place the right people and infrastructure”.
The brand which has an unrivalled history in innovation realised they needed to improve their marketing strategy by tapping into the experience of Mikki.
“He perfectly embodies who we are looking for in a brand ambassador. He’s been there and done it all. And his longevity in the country synchronizes perfectly with Piccadilly. We wanted someone who embodies family values and represents just that”, Roy stated.
Officially agreeing to represent the brand at the Sun Lodge Hotel on March 29, 2021, Mikki who was overwhelmed pledged the relationship would be a mutually beneficial one.
Mikki who grew up with the Gem biscuit of the Picadilly brand added, “I am very glad for the lot to have fallen on me and for a brand far older than I am to have selected me as its brand ambassador”.
He described the Picadilly brand as a business built on principle and therefore could not reject their offer. “Money is important but this relationship and its value to my brand is worth far more than money. Now, I am looking at the fact that I can eat a lot more Picadilly”, he added jovially.
To him, the Picadilly brand has proven that biscuits can be made better with time like wine. “Picadilly is the fine wine of biscuits”, Mikki intimated.
Deputy Managing Director of the brand, Millicent Kaba appreciated loyal customers of the brand and noted that as a national resource, “We want to bring back the Christmas feeling Picadilly represents”.
The brand which freshly bakes all its highly nutritious biscuits in Ghana has also unveiled two new products, the Piccadilly Finest Cracker and the slightly salted PopCorn, all produced from its bespoke bakery.
