The Y Army team of Ghana’s number one radio station, Y97.9FM has donated toiletries, food items and other essentials to Kith Care Home Centre, a rehabilitation center in Takoradi.
Y Army Takoradi’s first of a kind project was led by its Patron, Nana Quasi-Wusu, on Saturday, 27th March, as an annual project.
This maiden edition became particularly necessary after the rehabilitation centre lost its founder, Madam Abiba Fuseini, some weeks ago.
Quasi-Wusu expressed his excitement on the success of the initiative when he stated: “We are proud to have been able to embark on this project. The smiles on the faces of the inmates tell it all that indeed lives have been touched by this act of kindness. This won’t be the last of a project like this. We hope to sustain it in the coming years”.
Nana Quasi-Wusu thanked all those who made themselves available for the donation.
Programmes Manager of Y97.9FM, Agyekum Gyimah, speaking after the donation said: “I wish to commend the Y Army team for this gesture shown to the rehabilitation centre. It is our hope that we positively touch lives in any way we can”.
As prescribed by the World Health Organization and the Government of Ghana, the COVID-19 protocols of social distancing, wearing of nose masks, the washing of hands and the use of hand sanitizers were observed during the donation.
