Winner of YFM’s ‘Rapture’ to walk home with Ghc60,000 prize package

Ghana’s trendiest and urban radio brand, YFM (Y107.9FM-Accra, Y102.5FM-Kumasi, Y97.9FM-Takoradi) has set aside a prize package worth over Ghc60,000 for winner of its ‘Rapture’ reality talent show.
YFM which has always been a giant when it comes to supporting and promoting Ghanaian music, through its ‘Rapture’ reality talent show, seeks to revive the rap culture and unearth new talent to sustain the revered genre.
The term ‘Rapture’ which was beautifully coined from source words Rap + Culture and Future will not only unearth talent and revive the rap culture but it will also reward rappers who prove themselves ‘top dogs’, and capable of carrying the banner of the rap culture through the sands of time.
Announcing the prize package, coordinator of the ‘Rapture’ reality talent show who doubles as host of the YFM’s Lyricist Lounge, Kula, stated the ‘El-Supremo’ of the competition will get to pocket a cool cash prize of GHc10,000 and also realise the dream of every musician; a digital distribution deal.
“We have partnered with Crux Global for the Rapture reality talent show and this means the winner of the contest which promises to be the next big thing in Ghana will earn a digital distribution deal worth over Ghc50,000 from the company”.
Sweetening the pot, Kula shared that aside from the GHc60,000 prize, winner of ‘Rapture’ will also be linked to the best sound engineers in the country who will help her or him produce some of the ‘sickest’ tunes in Ghana’s rap history.
With call for entries opened from now to June 8, Kula urged rappers not to miss the opportunity and sign up for the ‘Rapture’ by registering and downloading a produced Rapture beat from www.yfmghana.com and submit a video (1minute) freestyle on the beat and upload on social media using the tag @y1079fm @y1025fm @y979fm and hashtag #FU60Challenge.
