Influencer Manager and Consultant, Yvonne Acheampong, has encouraged that anyone can become a brand influencer or ambassador.
In an interview with Mercy Bee the Ekumfi Princess on e.TV Ghana’s Girl Vibes, she stated that the most important thing that one needs to be able to become an influencer is to be true to oneself and “identify your niche”.
Making an instance with Kinora Awini, a chef and the founder of Telande World Limited who also doubles as an influencer, she said, “Kinora is clearly in the food and lifestyle space and it’s something that she has done for a long time so when she talks about it, it’s an authentic voice. People don’t feel like she’s faking because they’ve seen her make all of these food videos over the years”.
Per this, she explained that as Kinora, being a chef, identified her niche as food and lifestyle and stayed true to it, she is able to flawlessly deliver great content and is excelling as an influencer, hence the importance of identifying one’s niche.
Yvonne noted that anyone can be an influencer so long as they are willing to put in the required work and be honest about what they want to focus on as an influencer or a brand ambassador. She however clarified that a brand influencer is different from a brand ambassador although they do have the same goal of promoting a business.
