Nigerian Afropop and afrobeat musician, Ladipo Eso popularly known as Ladipoe, has advised artistes to flex or freely outdoor all aspects of themselves.
He said this when asked by Rev. Erskine during an interview on Y107.9FM’s Myd-Morning Radio Show if he identifies as a rapper or a singer since there are some old songs of his in which he was rapping and others like the recent, popular ones, in which he is seen singing.
Ladipoe replied, “I think it is important for any artiste creating music right now to flex all aspects of themselves. When you are planning to go somewhere or do something, you don’t just wear the same clothes you wear every day. You show different things and different sides of yourself”.
In addition to this, the ‘Feelings’ hitmaker stated that being a rap artiste does not mean that he will not add melody to his tunes when he needs to. “It doesn’t mean I’m not gonna sing my own bridge or sing my own hook”.
“The rap part in rap artiste means the rap bars have to be elite so that when I’m saying something, you’ll know that this guy is next level. I’m coming out in all directions”, Poe concluded.
Ladipoe is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records under which he released his biggest single ‘Feeling’ featuring Buju. The song tallied 54.2 million in radio reach and 1.65 million equivalent streams to become the most-streamed music in Nigeria and not only is it making waves in Nigeria but internationally as well.
