Ghanaian dancehall act, Sasco has defined music as a tool to speak for the masses and the voiceless.
Speaking with Kokonsa Kester on the ‘Weekend Rush’ show on Y 107.9 FM, Sasco mentioned that music was about the happenings in society, and artistes or talented musicians were to speak for the voiceless individuals in society.
“Music is about what is going on, when you see things that people can’t speak about it, as an artist you just put in a musical form and speak for the voiceless,” he said.
He went to state that he was using his talent to speak for the voiceless and oppressed after releasing his song ‘Krom Ay3 Shi’ which talks about the high cost of living in the country.
“That’s it’s how I am using my talent to do, you can bear me witness that times are hard and the cost of living is high,” he added.
Sasco further admitted that the internet and introduction of digital streaming platforms had been of great help to artistes especially in 2020 when the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is doing good, especially during the COVID period that’s what helped some of the artistes, they generated some revenue from streams on digital stores. They would have suffered if we had no internet,” he explained.
Sasco is currently promoting his new single “Yinyari” featuring popular Northern-based artiste Fancy Gadam.
Sani Siba popularly known as Sasco is a Reggae/dancehall, Afro-pop, and highlife artiste. He is passionate about the happenings in society and uses his music to address societal problems. He is inspired by other reggae/dancehall acts including Stonebwoy and Busy Signal.
