An Entrepreneurship enthusiast, Mrs Rita Krampah has cautioned entrepreneurs to keep records or make their businesses vulnerable to theft.
She made these statements on the ‘Myd Morning Radio Show’ during the ‘Business Vibes’ segment with Naa Dzama on Y 102.5 FM. She cautioned entrepreneurs that if they did not pay attention to effective record keeping, money would be stolen from their companies without their knowledge.
“If you don’t keep effective records on your businesses, you don’t get to know when you are being stolen from or when your finances are dwindling,” she warned.
She also advised that there was no need to employ a trained accountant to help keep effective records of the business, but rather a notebook or two, to record the payments and expenses made in a quarter or year.
“You don’t need an account to help you record your expenditure and payments in a year or month. You just need a notebook or two for the records,” she said.
Mrs Rita also added that record-keeping at home was very crucial. She mentioned that there was no need for a pen and paper, but there was a need to arrange available items and ingredients at home and know the items to purchase on the next market visit.
“You will not need a paper to take records of the items you bought from the market at home, you just have to arrange the foodstuffs properly and get to know the items you have and know what you have to purchase the next time you visit the market,” she explained.
Mrs Rita Krampah encouraged businesses to startups and parents to start keeping effective records of their stock and items at home and work.
