Ghana’s most innovative urban radio, YFM brought Ghana to a standstill with the third edition of the Y Clash of the DJs which saw Y-Kumasi (102.5 FM) totally annihilating their colleagues Y-Accra (107.9FM), and Y-Takoradi (97.9FM) to be crowned masters of the turntables.
YFM-Kumasi proved they are indeed the ‘Killa Squad’ in grand style with DJ Carcious, DJ Lexes, DJ Coleda and their hypeman, DJ Bongo winning a total of 722 points from six rounds, ‘Made in Ghana’, Afrobeat, Throwback, Hip Hop, Reggae Dancehall and Freestyle, winning Ghs 50,000 worth of prizes including an all-expense paid trip to Dubai.

It was six rounds of intense competition between the Y Triangle brands but solid entertainment for audiences across diverse platforms.
DJ Edita from Y-Takoradi retained his title from last year as the Best Performing DJ winning Ghs 1000 plus products from sponsors. Kojo Manuel from Y-Accra also won Ghs 1000 for the Outstanding Hypeman performance of the night. The Killa Squad DJs’ hypeman was DJ Bongo and Hot Squad DJs were hyped by TJ DJ who won the Outstanding Hypeman performance at the second edition which was held at the Accra Mall.

The second runners up, Y Hot Squad of Y Takoradi won Ghs 10,000 cash and products worth Ghs 1,500 from sponsors with a total score of 671. The first winning Team of Y-Accra with a total score of 703 points Ghs 30,000 cash, plus an all-expense paid trip tour any destination within Ghana.
Chief Director of Global Media Alliance (GMA), Emma Wenani in her closing remarks, reiterated the judges’ comments that YFM has the best collection of DJs in the country.
“This competition just goes to show that YFM is redefining DJing in Ghana and I thank the judges for spending their Good Friday with us, we are grateful. I thank all our sponsors; this was entertaining. To the people of Takoradi thank you for hosting us,” she said.
Programmes Manager for Y-Kumasi thanked his team Killa Squad for winning the third edition of the Y Clash of the DJs.
‘’I am proud of my team for winning this, we came to Takoradi and we conquered’’ he said.
The judges for the event were Giles Bossman, Ralph Menz and Andy Kirm. Nana Quasi Wusu (PM) host of Dryve of your Lyfe on Y-Takoradi was the MC for the night with support from Akwasi Boadi Akrobeto. The event was sponsored HD Plus, Darling Lemon, Freedom Beer, Fancy Drinks, Takoradi mall, Samsung, Wopecar, Hantec markets, McBerry Biscuits Rwandair, Koppan Hospitality and Angel Group of Companies.
