Ghanaian-born Nigerian music star, Gibril Adedayo Hassan Mansaray, known by stage name Gibrilville, has disclosed that attending school in Ghana gave him the willingness to pursue his music career.
Attending to Adisadel College after his family moved to Ghana, he met young students who were enthusiastic in the arts just as much as he was.
“And that was when I met a lot of Ghanaians who have now become very prominent musicians,” he said.
In an interview with Brown Berry on Y107.9FM’s RyseNShne show, he said, “The school has done it’s part. I felt the energy to grab the mic and say I want to pursue music because we had a lot of people playing around with the arts.”
Gibrilville emphasized that out of the many genres, Reggae and Ragga then was more of a culture amongst students which they enjoyed a lot.
“This also included dancing, I mean inter school Battle so indirectly we were all dancers and musicians,” he said.
Talking about some musicians who passed through the school he said, “We had the likes of Mensah, TH for Kwajis and the list goes on, The late Terry Bonchaka was also in Adisco.”
Sharing his journey so far, he mentioned that it has been an amazing and and he looks forward to taking it higher.
