15 young ladies graduate under BossUp 100 project in the Western Region

The BossUp 100 project, an initiative by Radio Personality Maxline Chelsy Sey, a staff of Global Media Alliance, over the weekend saw the graduation of its first cohort.

In all 15 young ladies were selected and trained in Garment Construction, Pattern Drafting, Drawing Illustration, Business Development and Fabric Waste Management which was facilitated by Duapa Werkspace out of which 16 successfully graduated.

In an era of economic hardship and lack of employment opportunities, technically equipping the youth especially women and girls with requisite vocational and management skills can serve as a weapon for poverty reduction.

Financially supported by the Richard Addison Foundation, the BossUp 100 project aims to train less privileged girls and women in the Western Region desiring a change in their lives with vocational and technical skills coupled with business and financial management skills to aid in achieving the sustainable development goal of gender equality and empowering women and girls with disabilities and also financial inclusion.

The graduation ceremony saw the beneficiaries showcase their designs within 8 months of training and internship. It took place at Hotel Messiah where their family members showed up to support them.
