Ghanaian songwriter and Konongo Trapper Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, better known as Black Sherif, has finally revealed his reasons for having just one feature on his 14-song album.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Y 102.5 FM during the ‘Ryse N Shyne’ with NYDJ, he said; “I needed this album to be very raw and the kind of pressure I had on myself in making this project, if I had to feature an artiste on it, they wouldn’t have loved the pressure I would give them”.
He added that he was a perfectionist and did not joke with his music.
“I don’t joke with my music and because I want everything perfect, I put a lot of pressure on those I work with”, he added.
Black Sherif further described his debut album as his biography and body of work that speaks to his life journey.
Black Sherif’s “The Villain I Never Was” was released on October 6, 2022, to all digital streaming platforms and has garnered over 100 million streams across digital streaming platforms. The album features only Nigerian Sensation, Burna Boy, who featured on his ‘Second Sermon’ remix.
