The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (Presec Legon) emerged champions of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
This came after they triumphed over Prempeh College and Adisadel College in a fiercely contested final on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Presec Legon trailed behind Prempeh in the opening round but made a great comeback to catch up in the second round before winning the competition.
Prempeh College led with 16 points remaining in the first round. Adisadel College collected 14 points, while Presec Legon earned 15.
Prempeh College and Presec Legon both received the same number of points after the second round. Both schools scored 21, while Adisadel College came in last with 13 points. Prempeh College scored 28 points in round 3, Presec scored 27 points, and Adisadel College scored 19.
With 41 points in the fourth round, Prempeh kept its one-point advantage. Adisco scored 32 points, while Presec scored 40.
With nearly all of the riddles they answered properly in the last round, Presec finished the competition with 50 points. Adisadel came in third with 32 points, followed by Prempeh in second place with 41 points.
The Madina-based scool has now won the prize for a record seven times in 1995, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2020, and now 2022.
