Award-winning songwriter and recording artiste, Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome better known as Cina Soul in showbiz has disclosed the platform that prepped her for the music world.
Cina Soul was one of the promising participants and finalists in the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Icons competition.
According to her, the competition lit up some sort of fire within her. Eventually, she discovered the passion to work much harder and pursue her musical talent.
In an interview with NY DJ on Y102.5 FM’s ‘Ryse n Shyne’, the ‘Ojorley’ hitmaker shared, “The moment I didn’t win, it made me work harder because I felt I didn’t win so I have to push harder to show probably the reason I should have win.”
She added, “I think maybe if I had won, I would have been slow, maybe I wouldn’t have been here.”
Cina Soul further reiterated that despite missing out on winning the competition, it helped her harness her skills.
“I learnt how to sing, went through vocal training and stage training as well. Everyone can’t be a winner but everyone can be a winner on his or her own,” she stated
She advised other emerging artiste to keep the work on as she quoted, “failure is the step to achieving greatness.”
