Renowned Ghanaian YouTuber and Human Rights advocate born Elorm Ababio otherwise known as Ama Governor has been denied formal admission to the Ghana Bar after her colleagues received their respective call entry on Friday.
The shocking news have since hit family and loved ones as she completed the professional law programme successfully, passing all of her examinations and doing well in the interview..
Ama Governor was scheduled to be called on Friday, however, the General Legal Council Secretary informed her of the decision in a letter indicating that a “concerned citizen” allegedly filed a complaint she “lacks good character.”
The complaint includes a video clip of her from her YouTube content that purports to capture her engaging in behaviour that is “conduct unbecoming of an application to be called to the Bar.”
The General Legal Council has established a three-member committee to look into the complaint in the interim while the investigation is ongoing, her application to the bar has been postponed.
Netizens however have registered their displeasure on the latest development as others have argued that the case could serve as a “dangerous precedent” from the General Legal Council of Ghana.
