Just two months after getting his twitter account restored, Kanye West’s account was suspended once more on Friday after its owner, Elon Musk, claimed he had broken the terms of service barring encouragement to violence.

Musk, who identifies as an ardent supporter of free expression, had praised Ye’s return to the stage in October.

“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended,” Musk tweeted late on Thursday.

Within an hour following Musk’s message, which was a response to a Twitter user who had asked “Elon Fix Kanye Please,” West’s account had been suspended. Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Ye’s account, which had more than 30 million followers, was suspended when Twitter banned one of his posts. The post’s contents could not be independently verified by Reuters.

Before Elon Musk’s $44 billion buyout of the social media site was complete, the website restored the rapper’s account. Musk then emphasised that he had no involvement with Ye returning to Twitter.

Ye posted a picture of Hollywood mogul Ari Emanuel using a hose to splash water at Elon Musk’s back on Thursday. Before the account was suspended, he captioned the photo, “Let’s always remember this as my final tweet #ye24.”

Ye’s account was suspended, Musk said, for inciting violence rather than for publishing “an unattractive photo of me being hosed by Ari.”

Twitter unbanned or suspended a number of contentious accounts in November, including those of the satirical website Babylon Bee and the comic Kathy Griffin.
