Travis Scott, the popular rapper, is being sought after by police following an alleged altercation that took place at a Manhattan nightclub early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, a sound engineer at Club Nebula in Midtown had a verbal argument with Scott, which then escalated into a physical altercation around 2 a.m. The 52-year-old victim claims that Scott punched him in the face, causing $12,000 worth of damage to an audio speaker and a video screen.
The incident was reported to the authorities, and the NYPD is currently investigating the matter. Scott and his representatives are cooperating with the police to try and resolve the issue. A source close to the rapper stated that they are working with the NYPD to provide their side of the story.
Scott’s lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, has also released a statement, calling the incident a “misunderstanding” that has been blown out of proportion by the media. Schuster has also expressed confidence that his client will be cleared of any wrongdoing once the facts of the case are known.
The victim in this case did not sustain any visible injuries and refused medical attention. The suspect, who fled the scene in a car, has not been identified by the NYPD at this time. It is unclear whether Scott will be charged with any offenses, and the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the club’s management has described the incident as “blown completely out of proportion” and has stated that it was a great night for everyone involved. Dorian Harrington, the talent booker who booked Don Toliver to host his after-party at Club Nebula and was on stage with Scott during his surprise DJ set, has also called the incident a “total misunderstanding.”
