Ghana’s no.1 urban radio station, YFM is set to unveil the DJs for the various stations in the triangle for this year’s edition of the highly anticipated Y Clash of the DJs.
The buzz for the ultimate and most dashing DJ battles in Ghana is just getting started as this year’s edition promises to be special and exciting. The Y Clash of the DJs will this time not only be a competition between in-house and established DJs across the brand but also unleash Ghana’s next generational talent.
Get to know the various DJs who will be repping your favourite YFM brand on Wednesday, March 15 as Y 107.9 FM – Accra will announce its DJs on the Myd Morning Radio Show hosted by Rev Erskine from 9 am -12 pm while Y 102.5 – Kumasi outdoors its reps on Shouts on Y with Kwame Poku from 12 pm – 3 pm. Y 97.9 – Takoradi will also disclose its in-house DJs repping on The Dryve with PM from 3 pm – 7 pm.
With this year’s edition focusing on protégées from across the Y-Triangle, giving them a platform to make their mark in the industry, the new talents across the brand will also be unveiled come Friday, March 17. These protégées will go up against each other in fierce head-to-head battles, with the hope of impressing the judges and the audience with their skills in Kumasi later this year.
The Y Clash of the DJs was birthed during the heightened period of the Covid-19 pandemic, with YFM’s quest to entertain its listeners. This year marks the 4th edition of the competition, and it promises to be even bigger and better than before.
Last year’s edition saw DJ Gunshot, DJ Edita, Cue Beatz and TJ DJ as hypeman represent Takoradi. AD DJ, Mz Orstin, DJ Mic Smith and Kojo Manuel as Hypeman flagged Accra on stage while DJ Coleda, DJ Lexes, DJ Carcious together with hypeman DJ Bongo represented Kumasi.
The latter group eventually emerged winners of the Clash of the DJs, winning an all-expense paid trip to Dubai in the process. Who among the group will emerge victorious this time around?
