Finance and Policy Economic Analyst Senyo Hosi has said that Ghanaians must desist from seeking better opportunities outside Ghana due to economic hardships in the country.

In an interview on Y107.9FM’s YLeaderboard series with host Rev Erskine, he added that all Ghanaians have a role to play in the quest for national development and stability. “We are Ghanaians, and we all owe it to our country to trigger the change we want to see, be the change we want to have; we have to contribute to making the nation work.” he stated.

The entrepreneur tagged himself as an advocate of nationalism which was backed by a mentality he carried since his early days, recounting how he declined an opportunity to travel to the United States as a degree holder who would have been employed to do a job of little value or minimal skill. “It’s has been with me forever. After school, my family wanted me to join them in the U.S; I could not come to terms with the fact that I was a graduate, and I was going to have to go to the U.S and do menial jobs.” he expounded.

“If you are a graduate, and you leave your country, and you are practically going to work as a high school leaver in another man’s country, that should tell you that you are not included in development and value plans of that country; why don’t I actually work at the skills that will make me rather higher than a high school graduate in my country?” The economic analyst revealed and further acknowledged this as an ongoing issue which picks its roots from problems that are present in the country and therefore need to be solved.
