Ghanaian born Highlife musician based in the UK, Sister Afia says she is surprised no man in Ghana has been bold enough to propose to her.
Although she is based in the UK, Sister Afia visits Ghana often and she cannot believe no man has attempted to hit on her unlike in the UK where she gets guys making advances at her often.
“I think Ghanaian men don’t have the balls to walk up to me and propose. All I get is you are nice and yet no man is bold enough to approach me and propose,” she told Showbiz in an interview on Tuesday.
According to the 25 year-old musician, she sometimes get worried about the problem knowing very well she has the looks and is well-endowed.
“Maybe, I am not beautiful enough to them or my way of dressing scares them off. But I wish they would come forward and stop being cowards,” she added.
Asked whether she was in any amorous relationship, Sister Afia who is known for songs like Yiwani, Krokrono and Are You Ready said she is currently single and not in a rush for a man right now.
She explained that her past relationship was terrible adding that she almost lost her life through that. “I was in a relationship for five years and I tell you it was an awful experience. I am, therefore, careful of who I get involved with in my next relationship” she said.
In fact, the relationship rubbed off so badly that she has released a song, Kofi telling her real life story. Sister Afia who has worked with musicians such as Kofi Kinaata and Bisa Kdei, explains in Kofi the terrible things she went through during her long term relationship.
According to her in the song, Kofi who she dated for five years Kofi was an angel sent from heaven when they met but he later treated her like thrash when her love for him grew along the line. She, therefore, leaves the relationship very broken hearted.
Real name, Francisca Gawugah, Sister Afia said she is taking advantage of the song to educate young girls to be very careful who they date.
A professional nurse in the UK, Sister Afia said she will always choose music over nursing because she cannot do without music.
