Ghanaian Hiplife singer and songwriter, Dennis Nana Dwamena, professionally known as Kidi has revealed that BHIM nation president, Stonebwoy was the perfect artiste to be paired with on his latest song ‘Likor’.
Speaking to Kojo Manuel, host of Y107.9FM’s Dryve of Your Lyve, he noted that the making of the song, Likor, involved ‘a whole army’ which he explained as a collection of ideas from other talents in the music industry. “There’s a whole army of talented creatives that I go to the studio with; everybody brings ideas,melodies and then we bring out the best; So for Likor it took a whole army to make it.”
The ‘Say Cheese’ hitmaker noted that Likor is a very spiritual song and had to be hopped on by someone who can match that spiritual energy. After careful deliberation with his team, the singer acknowledged that Stonebwoy was the best artiste for the song Likor and made advances towards a collab after. “We had a video call and we were brainstorming ideas of spiritual artistes that could fit this record; everyone was throwing names and I was like guys, you are going too far; the Spirit is with 1GAD” he reminisced.
Likor, passed through the hands of four writers and three producers before being released on Thursday 27 July 2023 as the final masterpiece, and has got listeners looped to its sentimental groove and the rhythmic rendition of the two Ghanaian hitmakers.
